Springboard is looking to hire an engaging Live Instructor with experience preparing students for the <strong>Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C)</strong> exam through the <strong>National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)</strong>.</p> <p>The instructor will serve as a founding instructional partner and subject matter expert, helping shape live session content, pacing, learner engagement, and certification readiness for a first-of-its-kind training program. The ideal instructor must enjoy not only teaching, but also collaborating on live-session content design to build an exceptional learner experience from the ground up.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p><strong>LIVE INSTRUCTION</strong></p> <ul> <li>Every week <strong>over 18 weeks</strong>, facilitate <strong>90-minute learning sessions</strong> (max 20–30 students per session) aligned to the course’s didactic curriculum and TS-C certification exam objectives. </li> <ul> <li>Each lecture will be held a minimum of <strong>2x weekly</strong> to accommodate multiple time zones.</li> </ul> <li>Lead engaging, motivational sessions that reinforce key concepts and build learner confidence throughout the program.</li> <li>Prepare independently for live sessions. </li> <li>Other responsibilities as needed.</li> <li>Deliver demonstrations and walkthroughs of surgical concepts, workflows, instrumentation, and operating room best practices as appropriate.</li> <li>Lead dedicated TS-C certification review sessions toward the end of the didactic curriculum using NCCT-aligned preparation strategies.</li> <li>Reinforce core curriculum topics including:</li> <ul> <li>Surgical anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and pharmacology</li> <li>Infection prevention and sterile technique</li> <li>Operating room preparation and patient safety</li> <li>Surgical instrumentation and equipment</li> <li>Intraoperative assisting techniques</li> <li>Surgical specialties and postoperative procedures</li> </ul> <li>Help learners understand how classroom concepts translate into real-world operating room practices.</li> <li>Respond to learner questions related to course content via email as needed.</li> <li>Collaborate with mentors and the Springboard team to continuously improve learner outcomes, engagement, and certification readiness.</li> </ul> <p><strong>DESIGN</strong></p> <ul> <li>As this is a new program, partner with Springboard's Learning team to develop and refine session agendas, instructional materials, and lecture decks.</li> <ul> <li><strong>Note:</strong> We're looking for someone who enjoys building learning experiences—not simply delivering existing presentations. No branding or graphic design experience required.</li> </ul> <li>Develop engaging learning activities using Kahoot and other interactive learning tools to reinforce retention and increase participation.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>8+ years of experience</strong> working as a Surgical Technician in an acute care hospital or surgical setting.</li> <li>Current <strong>Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C)</strong> credential through NCCT <strong>or</strong> current <strong>Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)</strong> credential through NBSTSA.</li> <li>Active certification must be maintained throughout employment.</li> <li>Minimum <strong>3 years of teaching experience </strong>in Surgical Technology (eg: training, precepting experience). </li> <li>Minimum <strong>2 years of teaching experience in an online program. </strong></li> <li>Demonstrated ability to simplify complex surgical concepts for learners with little or no prior healthcare experience.</li> <li>Deep knowledge of:</li> <ul> <li>Aseptic technique and sterile field maintenance</li> <li>Surgical instrumentation</li> <li>Patient positioning and OR safety</li> <li>Surgical counts and specimen handling</li> <li>General and specialty surgical procedures</li> <li>TS-C certification exam content and preparation strategies</li> </ul> <li>Passion for coaching adult learners entering the healthcare workforce.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience preparing learners for the NCCT TS-C certification exam.</li> <li>Experience developing instructional materials, presentations, or curriculum.</li> <li>Familiarity with online learning platforms (eg: Canvas).</li> <li>Experience using interactive engagement tools such as Kahoot, Mentimeter, or similar platforms.</li> <li>Experience supporting learners through certification exam preparation.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Other Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Excellent computer skills with reliable high-speed internet (no mobile hotspots).</li> <li>Must be comfortable delivering live instruction through virtual meeting platforms.</li> <li>Ability to work independently, think critically, and reliably commit to a recurring lecture schedule.</li> <li>Ability to respond to Springboard communications within <strong>24 hours</strong> and student questions within <strong>24–48 business hours</strong>.</li> <li>Strong learner empathy, excellent communication skills, and enthusiasm for supporting adults transitioning into healthcare careers.</li> <li>Comfortable working collaboratively with instructional designers, mentors, and program leadership as a founding member of a new program.</li> <li>Must live and work in the United States.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Pay: Up to $40 an hour, depending on experience and geographic location.</strong></p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><em>We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
