A Day in the Life and the Impact You’ll
Make

The Automotive Lift Safety Program Inspector will work with assigned customers for the purpose of improving shop safety and customer compliance.

The Inspector will work with the Lift Safety Team to train and earn ALI Certified Lift Inspector status. The Inspector will train further and work independently with assigned customers with the support of the DEKRA Lift Safety team to perform various inspections at DEKRA customers’ locations.

We are looking for individuals with either an automotive lift service and inspection background, or relevant experience in a technical capacity who is excited about joining a growing global company offering full-time compensation and benefits packages with ongoing training opportunities.

What You’ll Do: * Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by actively participating, taking responsibility, and following established procedures and policies. * Work with Lift Safety management team to schedule all types of inspections. * Organize and schedule all aspects of travel for inspections. * Arrive at customer location and be prepared to start inspections prior to set time. * Gain ALI Certified Lift Inspector Status. * Perform and document all assigned inspections at customer locations. * Communicate with Lift Safety Program Coordinator (and Operations Manager as needed) throughout inspection process. * Articulate and document specific action items to be part of an overall goal achievement action plan. * Review and educate customer personnel with regard to customer corporate Best Practices.

What You’ll

Bring: *

Education:  College degree (business, automotive management, industrial engineering or related field) is a plus *

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of prior experience in installation, inspection, or field service work for users, manufacturers, distributors or service organizations of automotive lift products.  Other experience that would satisfy the minimum  requirement includes; *  Military veterans with a technical MOS, AFSC, or NEC designation *  Crane/elevator/fork lift inspectors *  Emission inspectors *  Mechanical surveyors (who reviewed ships prior to selling them) *  Millwrights with relevant experience *  Ship’s (maritime) engineers *  Oil rig operators or roughnecks *

Certifications/Licenses: Possess a valid US Driver’s License and the ability to operate a motor vehicle * System and/or technical requirements, or preferred * Meet pre-requisites for and have ability to earn ALI Certified Inspector Status (DEKRA funded) * Ability to effectively communicate with Customer Management and Technical staff. * Ability to organize and present findings to customer management, regional team and project management team. *  Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines. *  Must be organized and detailed oriented. *  Must display professional and ethical conduct at all times. * Team player, dependable and reliable.

Physical Considerations: Due to the nature of working in the lift inspection field, all candidates must be able to work in a variety of client locations, environments, and conditions.  The physical demands listed below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions: * Ability to work extended periods of time and work through evenings, and weekends. * Ability to be on one’s feet - this includes: * remaining in a stationary position (often standing for prolonged periods) * ascending and/or descending stairs * walking long distances (from parking to facility, within and around the facility - up to 5 miles/day) * walking on rough and uneven terrain * walking through client work facilities * Ability to constantly move about to accomplish tasks or move from one work location to another * Ability to perform repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers * Ability to lift, adjust and/or move tools, supplies, or materials up to 50lbs in all directions * Ability to occasionally move and conduct work with full range of motion in different body positions to accomplish tasks in various locations including tight and confined spaces * Ability to possibly remain in a seated, stationary position for prolonged periods

Travel Considerations: * Domestic travel required, estimated up to 75%

Compensation

The base pay for this position is $52,000 annually to $60,000 annually. This position is designated as bonus eligible, subject to plan terms and conditions. Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and position-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
